The situation
Mustapha is opening two premises at the same time. On paper, that is fine growth. Day to day, it is a second job: finding contractors, following the building work, weighing up quotes — without ever letting go of the places already trading, which keep running and keep asking for him. And while the work goes on, cash only ever leaves.
The turning point
We went to him to set out the support schemes the Moroccan state has put in place for projects like his. His answer was honest: the subject interested him, but he had neither the time nor the availability to put a grant application together in the middle of a double launch.
That is exactly where we come in. We took the application in hand from end to end — identifying the right scheme, assembling the documents, filing, following the review, chasing the bodies involved. Mustapha stepped in only for what he alone could provide.
The scheme used
The Moroccan gastronomy incubation and support programme run by SMIT (Société Marocaine d’Ingénierie Touristique), part of the national tourism roadmap, and delivered on the gastronomy strand by DIAFA Incubator, the incubator selected by SMIT.
Two grants were awarded under it — one for each of the two premises.
The outcome
The road was long — six months of review is the administration’s pace, not ours. But the outcome is there: two grants awarded, room in the cash flow at the very moment the building work costs most, and an owner who can look ahead again.
The organisations involved
Daâm PME came to find me at the exact moment I needed it most. I was in the middle of two openings, my head was nowhere else. They carried everything for me, from start to finish, with a seriousness and an organisation I rarely see. Today the grants promised by the Moroccan state — I have actually received them. On my own, I would never have seen it through. Thank you for their commitment.
